Fourteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers continue to lay mines in Yangtze River. 33 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 16 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers attack railroad targets, barracks, Headquarters, bridges, town areas, river shipping, and targets at or near Kaifeng, Sinyang, Chungsiang, Chienyangi, Ichang, Chingmen, Yanglowtung, Kiyang, Loyang, Szeshui, Hsihhsiassuehi, Shanhsien, Neihsiang, Liuehou, Kweiping, Nanyo, Shihlipu, Hojung, Mingkiang, and Kioshan. 100 fighter-bombers attack river, road, and rail traffic, troops, gun positions, and generally harass Japanese movement and supply lines in South and East China hitting especially targets in Yangehi.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). Nearly 100 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-38 Lightning fighters pound targets in Ipo Dam area with napalm. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit Manggar, Tondano, and Balikpapan while B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and P-38 Lightning fighters hit Miri, Brooketon, Bintula Fort Brook, and a flak ship near Labuan Island. P-38 Lightning fighters also support ground forces on Tarakan Island. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Taichu and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit alcohol plants and railroad yards.

Twentieth Air Force. 25 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's mine Shimonoseki Strait and Maizuru and Miyazu harbours.

Seventh Air Force. 13 Guam based United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb airfields on Marcus. 11 others sent against Mareus abort because of bad weather.
