Fourteenth Air Force. 23 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 4 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters pound trucks, trains, and gun positions in Hanoi area, bomb railroad yards and barracks area at Sinsiang, hit rail and road targets, buildings, and radar station in Showyang area, knock out bridge South of Saiping, and damage bridge North of Hsuchang. 40 fighters hit rail, road, and river traffic, artillery emplacements, line positions, and other targets in Indochina and South and East China.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) fighter-bombers supporting ground action continue to hit concentrations and positions in Cagayan Valley. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound Balikpapan area gun and defensive positions while B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit nearby warehouses and numerous other buildings. P-38 Lightning fighters dive-bomb and score direct hits on pillboxes. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit Toshien oil facilities and P-38 Lightning fighters attack Mato. 2 B-32's blast gun positions and barracks at Heito. United States ground forces complete capture of Okinawa.

Twentieth Air Force. Approximately 130 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's bomb aircraft plants at Himeji, Kagamigahara, Akashi, and Tamashima. 162 others pound naval arsenal at Kure.

Seventh Air Force. Over 40 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters from le Shima fly combat patrols over Amami Gunto, claiming 11 aircraft downed.

Eleventh Air Force. General Brooks becomes Commanding General, Eleventh Air Force.
