Fourteenth Air Force. 8 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 6 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers pound truck convoys in Hengyang area, hit river shipping near Pakonghow, and damage bridge and storage area and knock out antiaircraft positions at Puchi. 80 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers, P-38 Lightning fighters, and P-47 Thunderbolt fighters over Indochina and South and East China continue to disrupt Japanese withdrawal, pounding dozens of targets at numerous locations. 15 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers blast Changsha area, destroying an estimated 28 warehouses and 8 fuel storage buildings.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). 100 Fifth Air Force United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers Hy their first strike from Okinawa, bombing Chiang Wan airfield North of Shanghai. Seventh Air Force B-25 Mitchell medium bombers from Okinawa hit Wusung and Lunghua airfields in the Shanghai area while A-26 Invader light bombers and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack Tachang and Tinghai airfields. Fighter-bombers hit shipping and targets throughout the general area attacked by the bombers. Thirteenth Air Force B-25 Mitchell medium bombers pound Jesselton airfield. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit Oelin and Tabanio airfields. Other B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit Itu Aba Island. Fifth Air Force FE3s support ground forces in the Infanta and Leyban areas.

Twentieth Air Force. 570 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's bomb aircraft plants at Handa, Nagoya, and Takarazuka, arsenal and metals industry at Osaka, and urban areas of Tsu and Kawana, plus several targets.

VII Fighter Command. 91 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers, operating out of Iwo Jima, hit airfields and other tactical targets at Hamamatsu, Suruga Bay, and other points in Nagoya area.
