Fourteenth Air Force. 19 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, along with 8 fighter-bombers, hit railroad, road, and river traffic around Vinh, Quang Tri, Dap Cau, and Song Chu, knock out bridge at Hwayuan, and demolish tunnel opening near Wuchang. 16 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers cause heavy damage and casualties blasting a bridge and military installations near Wuchang. 27 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers hit bridges, troops, storage, trucks, trains, river craft, and other targets in Yoyang area. 65 other fighter-bombers attack targets at several locations throughout South and East China. 15 photo reconnaissance aeroplanes continue to maintain good coverage of enemy movements.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers again bomb railroad yards East of Saigon at Phan Rang and Muong Man. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and fighter-bombers attack industrial targets at Shoka, Taichu, Ujitsu, Byoritsu, and other Formosan locations. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and fighter-bombers attack Pateng, Ipo Dam area, Tuguegarao and Ugac airstrips, Anuling, Baguio area, guns and defences in Balete Pass area, and support ground forces at several points. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, and fighters hit; gun positions and other targets at Balikpapan. P-38 Lightning fighters dive-bomb Keningau and Jesselton airfields.

VII Fighter Command. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) fighters from Iwo Jima hit Kasumigaura and its airfield. 6 planes are claimed destroyed and 40 damaged. P-47 Thunderbolt fighters fly heckler strikes against Kyushu during 28-29 May 1945. Japanese wage their last strong air effort on Okinawa hitting a number of ships and sinking destroyer USS Drexler.
