Fourteenth Air Force. 20 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers knock out bridge North West of Anyang and damage another Northeast of Kiehsiu, attack railroad targets during sweeps from Taiynan to Suchow and Tehsien to Pengpu, and strafe river craft between Ichang and Lokehang.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). 330 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-26 Invader light bombers, P-47 Thunderbolt fighters, and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers pound Tarumizu town, industrial area on Kyushu and many targets on Kyushu and in the Ryukyus. P-38 Lightning fighters support ground forces on Luzon, hitting Japanese concentrations East Northeast of Naguilian, near Mount Data, and at other points. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound Japanese positions South of Fabrica. Other B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb supply and personnel areas and antiaircraft positions in Makassar area. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers also bomb Miti.

Twentieth Air Force. During 5-6 August 1945, 470 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's fly incendiary raids against cities of Saga, Mae Bashi, Imabari, and Nishinomiya Mikage, 106 bomb coal liquefaction company at Ube, and 27 mine waters of Sakai, Yonago, Nakaumi Lagoon, Miyazu, Maizuru, Tsuruga, Obama, Najin and Geijitsu area.

VII Fighter Command. VII Fighter Command is officially assigned to Twentieth Air Force. 100 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers strike airfields and military installations in large area around Tokyo, scoring especially effective hits at Katori airfield.
