Fourteenth Air Force. Fourteenth Air Force moves from Kunluing to Paishiyi.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters cover Twentieth Air Force B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber strike against Kyushu targets. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and A-26 Invader light bombers over Kyushu pound Tsuiki airfield. Other B-24 Liberator heavy bombers start fires at Omura. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit bridges and other targets at Matsubase and Kawaj iri and bomb convoy off Pusan. Other B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit Chiran and Izumi airfields. Fighter-bombers attack and considerably damage command and transportation facilities throughout Kyushu. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Takno airfield. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and P-38 Lightning fighters support ground forces near Ambuclao, Kiangan, Batangan, Aparri, Malikayan, Bontoc, and Tabayoc and Palugloko Mountains. In Netherlands East Indies (NEI) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb area East of Bandjermasin, and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers hit harbour at Soerabaja.

Twentieth Air Force. 124 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's, escorted by VII Fighter Command fighters, bomb naval arsenal at Toyokawa. During 7-8 August 1945, 29 others drop mines in Shimonoseki Strait, at Miyazu, Maizuru, Tsuruga, Obama and at Najin. Far East Air Force (FEAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters provide cover.

VII Fighter Command. After escorting United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's on bombing mission, P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers attack railroad targets and shipping in and near Magarimatsu, Chofu, Atsugi, and Sagami.

Eleventh Air Force. 5 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Kataoka airfield. Antiaircraft fire damages 2 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers.
