Hostilities with Japan end officially with the signing of the instrument of surrender aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on 2 September 1945.

Is seized as a prize of war by the Danish along with R230, R233, R242 and R259 on 3 September 1945.

R238 R-boat
Is seized as a prize war by the Russians on 3 September 1945.

Eleventh Air Force. A United States Army Air Force (USAAF) C-54 on its way from Atsugi to Washington DC refuels at Adak. The aircraft carries motion pictures of the Japanese surrender aboard the Missouri on 3 September 1945.

Eleventh Air Force. 2 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers fly high altitude photo reconnaissance of Paramushiru and Shimushu, encountering Soviet fighters on 4 September 1945.

Eleventh Air Force. A radiogram from Commander North Pacific (COMNORPAC) officially cancels all further missions on 6 September 1945.

R236 R-boat
Is seized as a prize of war by the Danish on 9 September 1945.

Fifteenth Air Force. Fifteenth Air Force is deactivated in Italy 15 September 1945.

R214 R-boat
Is seized as a prize of war by the Danish on 21 September 1945.

R263 R-boat
Is seized as a prize war by the Danish 24 September 1945.

R226 R-boat
Is seized as a prize of war by the Danish on 26 September 1945.
