History

After Adolf Hitler's, National Socialist German workers party (NSDAP), ascended to power in 1933, a clandestine operation was launched to secretly rearm Germany. Within a very short time, the Treaty of Versailles was renounced and the Wehrmacht came into being. Along with the Kriegsmarine (Navy), and the Luftwaffe (Airforce).
After 1935 when the treaty of Versailles was renounced the German armed forces grew at a phenomenal rate during the course of the war, and achieving more than 13 million personnel.
