                    Ninth Air Force. More than 250 United States Army Air Force 
                    (USAAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers and A-20 Havoc light 
                    bombers bomb marshalling yards at Busigny, Valenciennes, and 
                    Blanc-Misseron. Over 400 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters and P-51 
                    Mustang fighter-bombers dive-bomb airfields and marshalling 
                    yards in France and the Low Countries.
                    
                    Twelfth Air Force. Attacks against rail lines and bridges 
                    in North Italy continue. Medium bombers bomb approach to bridge 
                    in North Oriveto, bridges in South Ficulle and in Marsciano, 
                    and marshalling yards in Florence, Campo di Marte and West 
                    and North West Florence. Light bombers hit ammunition dump 
                    Northeast of Rome. P-40 fighters and P-47 Thunderbolt fighters 
                    hit rail lines North of Rome, bridges South West of Rome, 
                    guns North of Anzio, road at Montefiascone, road bridge at 
                    Cecina, trucks and planes at Malignano landing ground, and 
                    several other dumps, roads, and rail lines in North Italy. 
                    
                    
                    Fifteenth Air Force. More than 250 United States Army Air 
                    Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, most with fighters 
                    escort, attack La Spezia dock and harbour installations, marshalling 
                    yards at Castel Maggiore and Parma, railroad bridges at Faenza 
                    and Orbetello, and several targets. Over 300 other heavy bombers 
                    are forced to abort because of weather. 
                    
                    Eastern Air Command (EAC). Troop Carrier Command, until this 
                    date a major subordinate component of Eastern Air Command 
                    (EAC), is placed under Third Tactical Air Force, another Eastern 
                    Air Command (EAC) component. 
                    
                    Tenth Air Force. 24 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) A-31 
                    Vengeance dive bomber's hit villages and defensive positions 
                    near Buthidaung.
                    
                    Fourteenth Air Force. 3 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    B-24 Liberator heavy bombers claim 2 freighters sunk in South 
                    end of Formosa straits. 
                    
                    Fifth Air Force. 140 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    A-20 Havoc light bombers and fighter-bombers it bridges, barges, 
                    gun positions, roads, personnel, supplies, huts, and tent 
                    areas from Wewak to Hansa Bay throughout the day. 2 B-25 Mitchell 
                    medium bombers bomb airfields at Wewak and Boram. 8 others 
                    it Wakde Island oil stores, huts, antiaircraft positions, 
                    trucks, and other targets. Airfield on Biak Island is bombed 
                    by 2 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers. 
                    
                    Thirteenth Air Force. 22 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    P-39 fighters bomb village North of Kieta, airstrip and buildings 
                    of Koromira and Rigu Missions. P-40 fighters also hit Kieta 
                    area. Fighter sweeps over Rabaul area continue. Fighter-bombers 
                    hit Vunakambi Plantation supply area with incendiaries. B-25 
                    Mitchell medium bombers pound Talili area. 
                    
                    Seventh Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 
                    Liberator heavy bombers, staging through Eniwetok from Kwajalein, 
                    bomb Truk during the night. During the day B-25 Mitchell medium 
                    bombers based at Makin hit Jaluit and Wotje, using Majuro 
                    as a shuttle base to rearm between strikes. B-25 Mitchell 
                    medium bombers from Engebi pound Ponape.
