Eighth Air Force. 1,161 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    heavy bombers hit 22 defensive installations, consisting of 
                    antiaircraft and artillery positions and strong points covering 
                    the Gironde estuary. Other Allied Air Forces and French naval 
                    units attack similar targets. The air attacks precede a ground 
                    assault by French detachment of 6th Army Group on the defence 
                    pockets which deny Allies use of port facilities in Bordeaux 
                    area.
                    
                    Ninth Air Force. Operational Headquarters of XXIX Tactical 
                    Air Command moves to Gutersloh. 18 B-26 Marauder medium bombers 
                    fly leaflet mission in Ruhr area. Fighters fly patrols, sweeps, 
                    and armed reconnaissance, and support United States 3d Armoured 
                    Division South West of Elbe, Mulde River junction near Dessau, 
                    9th Armoured Division in Borna and Lobstadt area, XX Corps 
                    elements which continue to arrive at Zwickauer Mulde River, 
                    VIII Corps along the Weisse Elster River South of Gera, XII 
                    Corps elements in Bayreuth area, 2d and 5th Armoured Divisions 
                    along the Elbe in Barby, Magdeburg and Tangermunde areas.
                    
                    Twelfth Air Force. During 
13-14 
                    April 1945, United States Army Air Force (USAAF) light bombers 
                    continue to hit command in Po Valley. Bad weather over North 
                    part of Brenner line prevents medium bombers attacks but the 
                    B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit alternates on South part 
                    of line at Salorno, San Ambrogio di Valpolicella, and Chiusaforte, 
                    bomb guns Southeast of La Spezia in support of United States 
                    Fifth Army, and hit 5 defensive positions along British Eighth 
                    Army front in Argenta area. Fighter-bombers concentrate on 
                    supporting Fifth Army forces South West of Bologna.
                    
                    Fifteenth Air Force. 318 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    heavy bombers hit ammunition factories at Avigliana, Spilimbergo, 
                    Malcontenta, and Palmanova, motor transport depot at Osoppo 
                    and Klagenfurt marshalling yard as a target. 158 fighters 
                    provide escort. 29 P-38 Lightning fighters bomb and strafe 
                    railroad targets in Munich, Linz, Regensburg areas. 54 P-51 
                    Mustang fighter-bombers fly escort for Mediterranean Allied 
                    Tactical Air Force (MATAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bombing 
                    targets in North Italy.
                    
                    Tenth Air Force. 41 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47 
                    Thunderbolt fighters and P-38 Lightning fighters attack troops, 
                    supplies, and fuel dumps at Tawnghkam Nawng-hkam, Mong Kung, 
                    Loi-makhkawn, and Nawngkaw. 8 P-38 Lightning fighters damage 
                    bridges at Kong pau and Kyawngpeng. 446 transport flights 
                    are flown to forward areas.
                    
                    Fourteenth Air Force. 24 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, supported by 12 P-51 Mustang 
                    fighter-bombers, bomb Loyang and knock out bridge over Yellow 
                    River. 30 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and more than 130 fighter-bombers 
                    attack bridges knocking out at least 6, river, road, and rail 
                    traffic, troops, storage areas, town areas, and general targets 
                    over vast expanse of South and East China.
                    
                    Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    B-25 Mitchell medium bombers sweep Canton Hong Kong waterways, 
                    hitting shipping and other targets. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers 
                    bomb four airfields on Formosa. In the Philippine Islands 
                    B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, 
                    A-20 Havoc light bombers, and fighter-bombers fly numerous 
                    strikes in support of ground forces and against airfields, 
                    gun positions, defences, and troop concentrations throughout 
                    Luzon, Cebu, Negros, and Mindanao.
                    
                    Seventh Air Force. 24 Angaur based United States Army Air 
                    Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound supply and 
                    personnel areas at Tigatto.
