                    ground action in Cervantes area, Balete Pass and North of 
                    Laguna de Bay. P-38 Lightning fighters hit Bintula, Kudat, 
                    and Ranau while B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, and P-38 Lightning 
                    fighters hit gun positions and Headquarters on Tarakan Island. 
                    B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Bingkalapa airfield and 
                    harbour at Soerabaja. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit railroad 
                    targets between Cap Batangan and Cap Varella.
                    
                    Twentieth Air Force. 41 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 
                    B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's bomb airfields at Usa, Oita, 
                    Ibusuki, and Kanoya. 34 aircraft are claimed destroyed by 
                    B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's during Usa and Oita missions.
                    
                    Seventh Air Force. 16 Saipan based United States Army Air 
                    Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters strafe radio station, 
                    airfield installations, and gun positions on Moen and Falas. 
                    11 Guam based B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound runways on
