Bombers & Ground Attack

History

The Luftwaffe had a number of bombers. Perhaps the most famous is the Junkers Ju 87, which was designed by Hermann Pohlmann as a dive bomber, recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed undercarriage, and the wailing sound that it made on an attack run. The Luftwaffe, also employed in large numbers Heinkel He 111. This bomber was designed by Siegfried and Walter Günter and was used throughout World War II
